Work Under NSL Satellites Ltd.
Dr Raz Itzhaki Tamir and Daniel Rockberger formed NSL Satellites in 2009. NSL Satellites is a space technology and STEM Education company, aiming to enhance small satellites and educate the next generation of space leaders. NSLComm is a spinoff developing communication systems for satellites.
Five Years of Experiments on the International Space Station.
NSL has sent twelve experiments of industry, academia and high school students to the International Space Station in the past 5 years, via a Space Act Agreement between NASA and NANORACKS. These experiments were activated by astronauts according to instructions sent by NSL and then sent back to Earth to be examined and analyzed. Some of the experiments were sent in collaboration with the Ramon Fund in memory of Col' Ilan Ramon, the late Israeli Astronaut.



PEASSS - PiezoElectric Assisted Smart Satellite Structures
The project team is a consortium of 6 companies from 4 countires.The objective of the PEASSS project is to develop, manufacture, test and qualify “smart structures” which combine composite panels, piezoelectric materials, and next generation sensors, for autonomously improved pointing accuracy and power generation in space.
Smart structures will enable fine angle control, thermal and vibration compensation, improving all types of future Earth observations.
NSL was the initiator of the project, have acted as system Engineer to it and are now developing the flight software.
ISU
The International Space University is a unique academic establishment providing multidisciplinary programs. The alumni organisations includes 4000 space managers, engineers scientists and leaders and act as a working network of connections and cooperation.
Michael Potter, Chris Stott and Rick Sanford are graduates of the first ISU programs, whilst Daniel Rockberger is a graduate (2006) of the MsC Masters program. Both Chris and Daniel are frequent teachers in the Business and Management department of the ISU summer session.
